About Us

UniVirtua is an Ireland and UK-based company specialising in the research, development and commercialisation of highly secure and dynamic component-based application technologies, specifically targeting the networked, low-resource device markets such as smartphones, wireless pads, digital TVs and in-vehicle systems.

UniVirtua has developed its patented (UK Patent No. GB2443846) client/server solution - the Majic Mobile Platform - to address the needs of these resource-limited, networked devices in the marketplace.

The founders of UniVirtua met at university in the mid-90's. During their time at university they co-founded, along with fellow students, the Metanix project, a research programme aimed at developing advanced software architectures for operating systems and applications.

This research has continued and has now been re-targeted for the emerging markets of small, low-resource networked devices, e.g. smartphones, wireless PDAs and set-top boxes. The founders formed UniVirtua as a vehicle for commercialising this new technology.
